Migraines are hard to pin down. The reasons we get them, triggers and symptoms vary from person to person. Although you can’t cure migraines, you can learn to control your environment and lifestyle in order to avoid triggers. Food is a major migraine trigger that is in our lives every day, which can make mealtimes somewhat complicated.
In an effort to make cooking and baking less of a headache, these recipe posts will include dishes from Headache and Diet, Tyramine-Free Recipes by Seymour Diamond, MD. Not only are these recipes delicious, but they also avoid common headache triggers—especially tyramine.

Fruit Pizza
This easy, migraine-free pastry is just like an art project—if you swap the glitter for fruit and the glue for frosting. The way this delicious dessert concoction turns out is entirely up to your creative whimsy. You and your kids can sit down and make your own cookie-sized “personal pizzas” (see attached photo), or you can serve the dish up on a pizza or cookie sheet for big parties. Remember—fruit (especially citrus) is a big trigger for migraine sufferers, so be careful with your toppings. If oranges are a trigger for you, swap them for a more friendly fruit. Otherwise, it’s very hard to mess up this sugar cookie and fruit combo, so have fun creating your delicious work of art.
